Washington D.C. Memorials:

Today we did many things, however some of the most touching things were the monuments and memorials. In the morning we saw the Vietnam Wall and the Korean Memorial. The Vietnam Wall goes underground and the closer to the middle of the wall you get, the more names are shown on each panel. It is shocking how many names are on that wall. The diamonds represent people who died and the crosses are for those who are missing in action. The entire wall was very touching, but every time I came across a cross on a name, I had to stop and look at that name. There weren’t too many crosses on names, but there were a good amount and I hope that the people missing in action will someday be found. It is amazing what people have gone through and I think it is great that there are memorials to remind us of the past.

The Korean Memorial was like the Vietnam Wall, however instead of names there were faces on a wall. The faces each represent a different profession. The professions are all ones that people had during the Korean War. There were so many faces on the wall and I learned a lot about the many jobs that are needed for a war. In front of the wall with the faces on it, there were about 10 statues. The statues all seemed to be active even though they were made of stone. The people all seemed to be hiding or creeping up on something. The Korean Memorial was one of my favorites and one of the most touching.

Though it isn’t a memorial, a thing I would like to mention is how much I enjoyed the Archives. There we saw the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence. Though we had to wait in some lines to get in, it was completely worth it to be able to say I’ve seen the American Constitution and all those other documents. It is wonderful to be able to see all the things that I have seen on this trip and I can’t wait to learn more in the days to come. Anna

Today we had visited the Korean War memorial and went to the Native American museum and the Science and Natural History museum. We saw the Lincoln memorial and the Vietnam wall. In the Native American museum we saw how the natives lived and dressed. One big thing we had learned was how girls in some tribes became women. Most of which revolved around making a dress. In the Science and Natural History museum we saw a lot of planes and space technology. We also saw how some of the first aircrafts were made and how they worked in the sky.

After looking at all the museums we headed back to the hotel to get ready for Diner Theater.

Everyone got lots of complements and looked really good. As we arrived to the Diner Theater we heard the rules and presages on what we can and can’t do in the Theater. We first sat down and started to talk a little bit and then our table was called to get food. It was about a hour-half hour until we finally got to see the show. As we all watched the show I found that it was very cheery and it was very funny at times also. As we left the theater I had found that the night was very pleasant and it was a very good day. Lexa

Hey parents and siblings of people. Today we went to a lot of memorials. There where some people that where pretty sad at times and happy at times. We got to go to the dinner theater tonight and there was a buffet. The food was actually pretty good. I would give the play an 8 out of ten. One more thing that I want to mention is a saying that was at the Korean War. It read Freedom if not free. Try to think about that over night.
