The Bath Area Family YMCA Facilities

The Bath Area Family YMCA’s new 58,000 square foot facility is the newest and most comprehensive YMCA in Maine.

The Duncan McGinnis Memorial Gym is a suspended wood floor field house containing a regulation basketball court that can be divided for cross courts, a climbing wall that accommodates beginners and accomplished climbers, a dedicated gymnastics center, two racquetball courts with an observation area and a banked rubber surfaced two lane track. Bleacher seating can accommodate 400 spectators easily.

The Edwin Gamble Aquatic Center contains an eight lane lap pool, a warm water pool for instruction and therapy and an in deck whirlpool. Second story stadium seating allows for easy observation and large crowds for swim events.

The air-conditioned fitness room contains a 19 station Cybex strength training circuit, 15 assorted aerobic conditioning stations, a stretching area and free weight equipment. Televisions and music enhance the workouts and the view over the gyms and pools creates a spectacular setting. A suspended wood floor all-purpose room with mirrors and dance bars make it perfect for aerobics, dance and the martial arts. We also have an exciting relationship with Mid Coast hospital for wellness programs and activities.
There is a childcare room with a state licensed and NAEYC accredited enrichment center, which provides childcare for pre-school age children. Options of morning enrichment or full time care are available. Membership childcare is also available.
Community Rooms include a teen center fully equipped with music, television, computers and table games. The community room is ideal for classes, quiet activities and meetings. There is a kitchen, a number of lounge areas and a fully equipped conference room.

Understanding your family needs, we have three complete individual private family locker rooms. The new Y has four locker rooms, two youth and two adult. Plenty of full lockers are available for day use. We even have kit lockers for rent! Saunas are located in the adult locker rooms.
